Long vintage dresses and anything that blings, these are a few of my favorite things!
Pop Up Houston held it’s 6th Annual Holiday Festival on December 1- December 3, 2017 at Greenstreet in Downtown Houston. The shopping festival showcased dozens of local small businesses including clothes, handmade apothecary products, handbags from around the world, handmade jewelry, even handcrafted perfumes along with a variety of online vintage boutiques.
The highlight of opening night was the high fashion runway show coordinated by Andrea Shove (Owner of Forgotten Arts) featuring designs by Danny Nguyen, Datamosh, Forgotten Arts and 8 Palms.

Danny Nguyen kicked off the show with a couture collection of dresses, blazers and pantsuits with a beautiful, soft floral design. Datamosh followed with a production that consisted of a collection of colorful, artistic, eccentric and futuristic designs along with a soundtrack that made the venue feel like it was about to take flight.
After a brief intermission, Forgotten Arts opened the second half of the show with their military inspired look what sent a message of global awareness, unity, liberation and freedom. Their use of the color black and messages like “Pray for Libya” illustrated that Forgotten Arts is about creating fashion with a purpose. 8 Psalms closed the runway show with their collection of colorful paint-like creations. Several of their garments were designed in such a way that two models were actually connected and wearing the same garment.
The DJ made sure the entire event kept a fun, energetic and upbeat vibe. There was even a live performance by the soulful Madeline Edwards. There was also an plenty of opportunity to shop local with all of the small businesses showing H-town love with Clutch City inspired caps, T Shirts, mugs, and other apparel.
