Sydney and Ruben Caballero are a brand new husband-and-wife team, and the founders of the new Houston Heights-based t-shirt line, Vox Populi (voks pop-yuh-lahy), which is Latin for “voice of the people”. The couple was inspired by the pain and division they saw in the world around them, and they wanted to find a way to spread love and positivity, while giving back to communities in need. From this, they created their line of inspirational clothing.
What people wear can say a lot about who they are, and T-shirts can spread a message in a powerful way. Vox Populi looks to make that message a positive one. The shirts spread uplifting messages, with phrases such as “You Are Enough”, “Rise Above It” and “You Belong” branded across the front, within simple, geometric designs. All shirts are designed in-house by Sydney and Ruben, and are printed in the U.S. on ethical and sustainable products.
While their mission is to spread positivity and empower others through their shirts, they also look to cultivate a culture of generosity through giving back. With every shirt purchased, Vox Populi donates over 25% of all proceeds towards a cause the owners care deeply about - the future. They believe that youth are the future, and that we all have an obligation to build them up. Proceeds are donated to programs that serve and empower young people, through education and mentorship.
They will be sharing their proceeds one organization at a time. The first of many organizations chosen to be the recipient of these donations, is Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY). FLY’s mission is to prevent juvenile crime and incarceration through legal education, leadership training, and one-on-one mentoring. FLY believes that ALL their children deserve a chance to become more than their past mistakes.
Once they reach their first 500 shirts sold, Vox Populi will be donating an additional $1,000 to this incredible organization, in addition to donating 25% of all proceeds!
